IFR night from Zurich airport to Augsburg with a Mooney

Welcome to this video in which we’re returning from Zürich to Augsburg. It’s been a fantastic day in Zurich.

We landed in the morning at Zurich international, which is by far the largest airport in Switzerland. With 31.1 Mio Passengers in 2018, an average of 763 flights per day and served by 77 schedules and charter airlines, it is quite busy.
However, they still do their best to accommodate GA. Due to the complexity of the surrounding terrain and noise abatement procedures, you have to complete an online training course if you want to fly VFR. So, IFR is just easier. You need a slot for GA and cannot come during the busiest times of the day due to the airline traffic.
Handling with the local flying club is affordable and service is nice.
We waited until sunset to depart IFR back to Augsburg. Strong tailwinds of about 40kts persisted throughout the entire flight.
