Do this kriya in the morning for more energy and focus, and to release physical and emotional tension. As with every Kundalini Yoga practice, we begin by tuning in and chanting the Adi Mantra to signal the start of our practice and shift into a more aware state. One thing that makes Kundalini yoga especially energizing is this use of the bandhas, internal body locks that help us move this coil of Kundalini energy UP the spine into the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands -- the higher centers of the brain. This boosts our intuition, our ability to focus and sleep, and even our immune system function. Next, we move through Sufi grinds, or Kundalini circles, to bring awareness to the body and loosen up the hips and spine before moving into some twists. Through each posture, we anchor with pranayama breathing exercises for a full-body yogic practice to start your day. This kind of practice is like polishing your electromagnetic field. It flushes your insides, brings fresh blood and oxygen to your organs, improves mobility, and releases tension. It’s seriously such a good Kundalini practice that can be done every morning by anyone!
