We use a digital water level to record floor levels in a house as one of our tools for determining whether the damage in a house is related to uneven foundation movement.
Slab heave is such a big talking point lately. Poor site drainage, broken pipes, subsidence, movement cracks - they happen in lots of houses.
So we use this tool to help decide if there is movement in a slab, which way the slab is moving (up or down - don't be fooled when part of the house is going up) and what might be causing the movement.
So in this video, we talk about how we use a water level to record floor level and how to turn those flor levels into an easy to understand floor contour plan.
This video is more for structural engineers and builders and insurance assessors but homeowners will find it useful too.
