EP 70| Bronwyn Pretorius - CMO at Ackermans ex-Shoprite, Mukuru and Capitec on building brands

On episode 70, Pat Mahlangu is joined by Bronwyn Pretorius - Chief Marketing Officer at Ackermans. She is the first guest on the Pat on Brands Podcast from outside of Johannesburg. Bronwyn was born and bread in Cape Town, where she still lives today.

Brownwyn has had an illustrious career, having spent 10 years at Shoprite (in various positions) where she pioneered the World Whiskey Day and the extremely successful loyalty programme Checkers Xtra Savings.

She was the Group Head of Marketing at Mukuru, where she negotiated and executed the 2022 Mukuru sponsorships; becoming the official sleeve sponsor of Crystal Palace Premier League Football Club, landing the2022 brand ambassador Tendai "Beast" Mtawarira and obtaining the naming rights of the Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, a top soccer team in Malawi.
Before joining Ackermans as the CMO – a role she assumed at the beginning of the year, she was the Group Head of Brand and Communications at Capitec.
