Rock Buns | Rock Cakes

These are also referred to as Rock Cakes. Yeah, this is a bit of an old school treat. It’s simple enough to do and it tastes great so have a whack at it and let me know how you get on!

Recipe

250g/ 2 cups + 1tbsp plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
100g / 1 stick of butter
75g/ 1/4 cup + 2tbsp of sugar
1/2 tsp of mixed spice or cinnamon (optional)
150g/ 1 cup of sultanas and raisins
50ml/ 1/4 cup of buttermilk
1 large egg

Mixed peel is another option for these. Just not my kinda option but go for it if you want 😉

Bake at 200C / 392 for about 15 minutes or until golden brown
