Train Cab Ride NL / ICNG in Rainy Season / Rotterdam - Amsterdam (HSL) / ICNG / October 2023

Описание к видео Train Cab Ride NL / ICNG in Rainy Season / Rotterdam - Amsterdam (HSL) / ICNG / October 2023

Hi everyone! Welcome on board a brand new ride! This time we get to board our brand new ICNG for a ride with passengers over the HSL between Rotterdam and Amsterdam. The rainy season has started as well. So be prepared for more video's on rainy days in the upcoming time.

0:00 Rotterdam Centraal
This video was recorded on by same day I recorded the video from last week    • Train Cab Ride NL / Delft Update 7 / ...  . It's a rainy day. Fortunate for us because the windscreen at ICNG gets dirty pretty fast. A bit like the windscreen on ICM does as well. But since it's raining you won't see a lot of the dirt during the ride.

3:40 Entering High Speed Line + Tunnel Rotterdam
The train automatically changes to ERTMS/ETCS and also the change from 1.5kV DC to 25kV AC is done by the train. As a driver I only need to watch the systems and see if all goes without problems. And of course interfere when needed.

6:37 Bergschenhoek

8:28 Phase Lock Bleiswijk
This section separates who phases of high voltage from each other with a 400 meter long powerless wire. This section is so long because this is also the maximum length of the trains on the HSL. Now there's no way for one train to connect the two phases. This separation is made to prevent too many trains from running under one phase draining all the power from the lines.

10:47 Tunnel Groene Hart
The longest Dutch train tunnel! With a total length of 7160 meters of tunnel (excluded the ride in and out the tunnel) this is the longest train tunnel we have in our country. The only railway tunnel longer than this one is one of the metro tunnels in Rotterdam. But since metro's most often drive underground that's not a surprise. Haha.

At bit over halfway the tunnel we let the train do some coasting because the temporary speed limit is coming up. First back to 160km/h (Groene Hart - Hoofddorp). And on top of that a 2.5km length of 80km/h due to a faulty viaduct.

15:10 SOS button pushed
There's a very annoying SOS button placed by one of the doors of the train that can be pushed while standing against it. During this ride you will hear this happen multiple times. ;)

17:40 Ringvaartaquaduct (Province Border)
Running from the Zuid-Holland to the Noord-Holland province on this location. Did you know the name "Holland" is not the correct name for all of our country? With Holland you mostly refer to those two provinces. When you speak of the Dutch country it really should be "The Netherlands". :) Wanna see more about this? Here you go:    • Holland vs the Netherlands

19:35 Train Manager Contact
There was a passenger smoking weed in the train. He's not responding well to the instructions of the train manager. Therefor the police has been informed and will be waiting for us at the next stop. After this message we speed up the train again to make sure we arrive at the station as soon as possible. This creates more time at the station to prevent a delay on departure.

On the left side you can see the tracks coming from Leiden joining in as well.

20:46 Leaving High Speed Line
The end of the high speed line is here. The train automatically changes to the right voltage. The driver confirms manually running back to the ATB secured tracks.

21:56 Hoofdorp

23:09 Schiphol Tunnel
You see all those camera's next to the tracks? Those are there to screen all trains running past it. Things like pantographs and bogies are checked.

25:01 Schiphol Airport
After arrival (one minute early on schedule) you can hear me talking with the police and the train manager. The passenger is taken out of the train and handed over to the police at the airport. After a three minute wait we can depart perfectly on time again.

31:57 Riekerpolder Aansluiting
Tracks towards Amsterdam Zuid are splitting up to the right. And again a passenger is standing against that annoying SOS button (not the emergency brakes btw) at the door mentioned before.

34:45 Amsterdam Lelylaan

37:08 Amsterdam Sloterdijk
This station has train running on the upper side of the station and downstairs as well. Downstairs the lines Haarlem / Zaandam - Amsterdam. Upstairs the line Schiphol - Amsterdam. And to the left the line towards Zaandam btw.

39:20 Transformatorweg Aansluiting
Tracks coming from the Westhaven Yard joining in on the left.

40:01 Singelgrachtbrug and more!
From the right the tracks coming from Zaandam / Haarlem joining in. And after that the Singelgrachtbrug.

41:57 Amsterdam Centraal
Final call for this ride. On the left the train dispatchers building.

I hope you enjoyed this ride. Let me know in the comments below and tell your friends. :D Cheers!
