Join me on this contract flight to Ft. Lauderdale and learn about my very embarrassing experience at the 2021 Bonanzas to Oshkosh Florida formation clinic. The landing gear on N117EC twice wouldn't retract while I was flying lead. It's common for a formation pilot to be slapped with a (generally deserving) nickname, but in this instance the airplane got the nickname 'Cialis'. The plane "just can't get it up," one of the guys declared. Note: the retraction issue lasted only as long as the formation clinic; the gear is working fine now. Go figure.
