How to secure a garden or allotment polytunnel to the ground part 2.

Описание к видео How to secure a garden or allotment polytunnel to the ground part 2.

Here I show how I have secured my FellgoodUK 4x2 metre polytunnel to the ground. Highlighted by the recent Hurricane Doris which caused damage in the UK. Avoiding storm damage is crucial. I have used 5x2 lengths of wood secured using a join of wood and screws. I have secured the polytunnel frame to the wooden frame using thick cable ties. I have driven a 5x2 stake into each corner and proceeded to screw the wooden frame onto the stakes. I drove the stakes in using a sledge hammer. The wood is already tannelised has been treated with Ronseal Country oak wood preservative to delay rotting. Next video I will hopefully show the finished article. I will apply polytunnel tape where the polytunnel frame will meet the plastic to avoid early perishing of the plastic. I like this polytunnel as it has a hinged door. A polytunnel or greenhouse can be great for starting seeds, getting early crops, extending the season, and protecting plants and trees from diseases such as Peach leaf curl I also show some signs of Spring on the Concorde Pear and Jubilee plum. It was a rather cold day. I hope people find the video useful.
