ORIGIN: Unknown, but per liquor.com, this drink first appeared in the 1948 book "The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks" by David Embury.

INGREDIENTS USED (IN ORDER SHOWN):
1/2 oz (15 ml) Benedictine D.O.M.
2 oz (60 ml) rye whiskey
1 dash Angostura bitters

EQUIPMENT USED:
Mixing glass
Julep strainer
Bar spoon
Rocks glass (aka old fashioned glass)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Fill the mixing glass 3/4 with ice. Add the ingredients in the order listed above. Stir for roughly 30 seconds. Put a julep strainer on the mixing glass. Add one large ice cube to the rocks glass. Strain the mixing glass into the rocks glass. Enjoy!
