Vintage MRE Review: Menu No.1 Pork Patty from 1986

Well, I guess it's time to take a look at one of the ancient MREs that have been sitting in my collection for many years. This freeze-dried Pork Patty meal (Menu No.1) is from 1986. That means it was 28 years old when this video was filmed in 2014. Needless to say, it wasn't the greatest meal I've ever had (to say the very least). But at the same time, it's pretty amazing to see how relatively well something designed to last for 3 to 5 years held up after close to THIRTY years! I wouldn't recommend eating one of these 1980s MREs, but if you were in a pinch and nothing else was available, some of the contents still seemed to be perfectly edible (if not palatable).
