Описание к видео Mercer, Pa

Mercer is a borough in the county seat of Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Mercer was laid out in 1803 and incorporated as a borough on March 28,1814. Distilleries and grist mills, and saw mills marked Mercer County's early economy. The first courthouse was built in1807. The building was destroyed by fire in 1866. The second courthouse was built immediately after, but burned down in 1907. The present courthouse was erected in 1909. The architect was Charles F. Owsley. I am told that the inside of the courthouse has a marble staircase, that is quite impressive. Unfortunately the day I was in town it was closed. I love these older courthouses.
