How to Build a 14s6p Skateboard Battery! - (Black Mamba Phase One Pt. 2)

In today's video, I build my 14s6p battery for my Black Mamba DIY! This incredibly powerful battery is an integral part of making this DIY build great, providing up to 180a continuous to the MakerX D75 vesc-based ESC in this build.

Building lithium-ion batteries at home can be a very dangerous thing to do, if you are not well versed in the dangers and things to avoid. The battery in this video uses Molicel P42A cells, which BatteryMooch rates for 30a. To support that discharge amount, I went with three weld pairs per cell. You could probably even do 4 pairs, but 3 is fine for this build. Additionally, I used more tinned copper braid in combination with the 12-awg wires to make a hybrid flex-capable pack. The Hummie deck flexes a tad, making it unwise to make a rigid pack, but not necessary to have a completely flexible pack.

I've done a few rides on this battery and expect to get between 20 and 30 miles on it depending on how I ride.
