This weekend, I had the pleasure of creating a two-tier wedding cake for a lovely couple. They requested a fondant-covered cake with a rustic touch, featuring textured buttercream and palette knife flowers.

It was my first time using this buttercream technique for the flower petals, and I thoroughly enjoyed the process and the beautiful rustic finish it provided. To add a modern flair, I incorporated marbled fondant and gold leaf accents for the top tier.

I’m thrilled to share that the bride and groom were absolutely delighted with the cake! It was set at St. Hugo, a stunning vineyard in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia.
