My LG dishwasher, LDT7808SS, started making this annoying sound after only having it for 2 years. Dishes were still clean but we bought it to be silent. It costs $100 just to get a plumber to look at it, so I decided to fix it myself.

I went to the LG store https://lgparts.com/products/ldt72989205 and bought a replacement pump, ABT72989205, for $167 off Amazon.

Replacing the part was pretty easy. Don’t forget to turn off your water and electric to the dishwasher. Disconnecting the hoses to get yourself more room is a good idea. I disconnected the exit hose from the garbage disposal and disconnected the front water supply.
