Analyzing Multiresidue Pesticides Using QuEChERS - Fundamentals

The fundamentals of multiresidue pesticide analysis using the QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) technique are discussed, including the step-by-step process. This technique has revolutionized multiresidue, multiclass pesticide analysis. There are three main methods for use for multiresidue pesticide analysis: Original (containing non-buffered salts), the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) Method, and the European Standard (EN) Method. This video mainly focuses on AOAC. The first step is Extraction/Partitioning (Acetonitrile salting-out extraction of a sample), the second step is clean-up of the extract using Dispersive Solid Phase Extraction (dSPE), and the final step is to analyze the results.
