English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) would like to invite everyone to join our webinar entitled “The Malaysian English Language Education Roadmap Beyond 2025”. We aim to discuss and deliberate on effective ways forward to sustain the objectives of the English language education transformation, beyond 2025.

The distinguished speakers are as follows:

1. Professor Dr. Zuraidah binti Mohd Don
A professor in the Language Academy in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She is the editor and the lead writer of two main language planning documents related to CEFR alignment: The Roadmap and Planning in Retrospect, Implementation and Prospective Planning. Currently the adviser and lead consultant of the ELHAM project funded by MoHE. She was the founding Chair of the Council of Language Deans, the Chair of the ELSQC, the Co-Chair of the EL Ecosystem Project in higher education and the Chair of the MUET Revision Committee. She received an award as one of the Top 25 Outstanding Women Listeners in the World 2021.

2. Professor Dr. Hazita binti Azman
A former professor of applied linguistics and literacy studies at the Centre for Research in Language and Linguistics, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She currently sits as Chair of the English Language Standards and Quality Council, Ministry of Education or ELSQC for 2020-2022.

3. Puan Farah Mardhy binti Aman
The Director of English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC), Ministry of Education, an institution that is responsible for providing continuous professional development for in-service English language teachers. In recognition of her contributions at the regional level, Farah was appointed as the SEAMEO Regional English Language Centre Governing Board Member representing Malaysia from 2018 till now. Being a futuristic leader, Farah strives for dynamic projection of multi-dimensional initiatives and digital innovations for the growth of the institution, the English Language Teaching Centre.

4. Dr. Kalminderjit Kaur a/p Gurcharan Singh
The Deputy Director of English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC), Ministry of Education. Popularly known to all as Dr. Mindy, she oversees the development and implementation of English Language programs and initiatives conducted by the institution. She started her career as an English Language teacher in primary and secondary schools and moved on to become a teacher trainer. She has trained both preservice and in-service teachers. Dr Mindy holds a firm belief that teachers play a significant role in the success of their students.
