Diurnal heating of a warm airmass beneath a cold pool was expected to lead to the risk of a few thunderstorms, especially forming along areas of wind convergence. Pulse type thunderstorms were expected with new cells likely forming on the outflow of decaying cells. Storms were expected to be very slow moving and so there was a risk of surface flooding issues but no other severe weather was anticipated. The risk of storms was quite widespread across England but I had originally planned to stay fairly close to home.
