Welcome to the Yinside! In December of 2021 I started offering each Sunday a weekly, live, online Yin Yoga class, with an option to watch a recording of the class for up to one week, until the next live class begins. This is the very first class I offered and I am making it available for free! If you like this and the other 2 free classes I am making available, check out the weekly classes at https://yinyoga.com/online_classes. Each class has one hour of yin yoga postures, about 10 minutes of shavasana and then a 20-minute meditation. Watch all or parts of the class as you prefer.

Sunday, December 5, 2021 — Playing our Edges

The flow for this class focusses on the spine and includes Butterfly, half Butterflies (including Straddle variations), Caterpillar, Sphinx/Seal, Twist, Bananasana, short Supported Bridge, Shavasana.

The topic for discussion includes playing the edge. It starts with the 3 principles of yin yoga and review principles of functional yoga and the importance of intention and attention (noticing what the edge feels like). Topics include the first principle, defining the edge and the Anti-fragility curve, the importance of stress to health and how the edge indicates the healthy, optimal amount of stress.
