Kim Kaphwan is a Taekwondo master that considers himself as the fighter of justice. Little is known about his reason for entering the second Fatal Fury tournament, but based on his personality, he wants to strive for excellence and righteousness in everything he does. He is also ready to challenge even the strongest fighter like the sponsor, Wolfgang Krauser.

Kim has different type of input depending on the special move. His Hi En Zan is a somersault like kick which consists of performing a backflip and hitting his opponent with his feet. He can also do a rushing split kick toward his opponent. His Hishou Kyaku can only be performed in the air and once done, he will rush diagonally toward his opponent, kicking him/her many times. His desperation move is the Houou Kyaku, a ground-based version of his air move which consists of a huge string of punch and kicks.
