solo trip to stirling 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 scotland by train, nature walk and cosy café adventure

hello friend, i hope you’re well :)

on a sunday morning, i took the train to explore stirling, or sruighlea in scottish gaelic. this 50-minute journey brought me to a charming city in central scotland, often referred to as the gateway to the highlands. despite the favourable temperatures, the typical scottish gloom was present and added a certain eeriness to the view from the castle.

after wandering through nature, visiting an art gallery, and indulging in sumptuous avocado toast, i headed back to edinburgh. there, i was greeted by the most gorgeous blue sky, proving once more that it can indeed happen in scotland. you just need to be patient. grab your picnic blanket asap and enjoy hours of sunshine, as the sun sets later in the north—a definite perk.
