Various shots of people running from the city streets (including La Ramblas) during a bombing air raid in the Spanish Civil War. Scenes of destruction as people look in horror at the bombed buildings and climb over rubble - very distressing. Injured people are put on stretchers. A fire engine ladder is raised beside a building. A group of people in a street hold an American stars and stripes flag that has been ripped by shrapnel. Men work on bomb sites with pickaxes, probably working to free injured people.



Soundtrack cuts out at 01:20:01; visuals continue, showing brief scenes of a wrecked tram in a street with rubble on either side.
