Implant placement and horizontal GBR using permamem® and cerabone®

Surgery by Stavros Pelekanos

Dr. Pelekanos performed implant placement and simultaneous bone augmentation in the
aesthetic zone. After insertion of the implant the buccal bone was perforated and
permamem® was applied and fixed by screws and pins. The site was grafted with small
cerabone® granules and subsequently completely covered by the membrane according to the principles of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). Finally, permamem® was fixed coronally by
the healing abutment and the site was sutured to achieve primary wound closure.

Dr. Pelekanos holds a doctoral degree in Prosthodontics and was appointed full-time lecturer at the Department of Prosthodontics, Dental School at University of Athens, Greece. He has established a private practice in Athens, oriented towards prosthodontics, implantology and esthetic dentistry.

cerabone® is a 100% pure bone mineral of bovine origin, which offers exceptional volume stability due to its non-resorbable properties. (https://1200trust.com/)

permamem® is a non-resorbable, biologically inert and biocompatible membrane made of high-density PTFE. Due to its cell occlusive properties, it provides optimal conditions for an undisturbed bony regeneration. (https://botiss-dental.com/products/pe...)
