Bonobo Cheka Outside With Her Newborn Baby

Some more footage of Bonobo's mum Cheka and her baby Upendi. No news about who the dad is yet.
Cheka is cradling her little one in her arms, holding tight. The little one opens its eyes a couple of times but then falls back asleep again. Cheka is difficult to capture, she's always on the move. A couple of hand shots of the baby and then mum comes swinging and lies on her back with the baby on her chest. When she sits there, another female Bonobo swings in front of her. I do think in the short time between taking this video and the last video Upendi has grown already.
Like myself, you might be wondering where all the hair has gone. Apparently, Female primates suffer from pulling their own hair a lot more than male primates and Bonobos do it the most. I noticed it started about 6 months after Bonobo Lola was born, you might remember her video "the smiley Bonobo" baby. This was still in their old enclosure. I'm hoping now they are settling into their new habitat that it will grow back, if it can grow back. They do seem to be quite happy there, settled well and both groups now have access to their own outdoor space at any time. They always play and settle any of their arguments with making love, the usual thing for Bonobos, as you'll see in the video. Even when you have a newborn baby to carry :-).
