Cumbria, England Family Adventure (Ep 18) Ghyll Scrambling

On this trip to the United Kingdom, our family explored Cumbria, England. https://createplaytravel.com/ We stayed for a few days at Augill Castle, and tried out ghyll scrambling in the Lake District.

We stayed at Augill Castle in Cumbria for the second time. We also had visited the previous fall. This beautiful castle is set up like a bed and breakfast, with comfortable rooms and a dining room with a delicious menu. The nearby English countryside is beautiful to explore, with winding gravel roads and fields with grazing sheep. Augill Castle is a delightful place to experience Cumbria.

One afternoon we took the kids to the Lake District. We tried out Ghyll Scrambling down a rocky river canyon. For this activity we received waterproof suits and helmets. We drove and then hiked up to reach higher elevation. Our guides were very instructive on how to navigate the natural rock slides and pools. We each had a great time Ghyll Scrambling. Our kids adventurously tackled each challenge.

After this we headed to Knaresborough. We stayed in a house we reserved through Trusted Housesitters and watched a family's dog for 2 weeks. We went on lots of adventures in Knaresborough. Be sure to watch our next video!
