In 1940, Alex was working as an air-raid messenger in north London while Gladys was an entertainer living in the same area. However the two didn’t know each other at the time. In the September of that year, they both witnessed the same air raid attack in Finsbury Park. Here they recount what they experienced on that day and reveal how two years later, they met for the first time and later married. In time, they realised that they had both witnessed the same incident.
