On March 4 and 5 of 2000 we visited BNSF's busy Chillicothe Subdivision. During our trip we made stops at several locations along this former Santa Fe route including Edelstein, Ancona, La Rose, & Chillicothe. We were treated to several meets, run through SP/UP trains and manned helpers pushing a westbound up Edelstein Hill at Houlihan's curve. One of the lead locomotives had mechanical issues so it was decided that an eastbound would stop in Chillicothe, cut two of their locomotives off, and help the westbound up the hill.
