Riding The Steep Slopes of Northern Spain | MTB Cantabria

McTrail Rider and I had a two day road trip planned in and around Cantabria. We had been invited to ride the steep slopes of northern Spain with local rider and fellow Youtuber Sergio Tezanos of Enduro Singletracks.

Over the two days Sergio was going to show us some of his favorite natural mountain bike trails. In today's video we started climbing from La Vega (Liébana), up through the hamlet of Maredes with the final and horrendous push up to the huge cross at La Viorna. From here we started the descent that would take us down to the stunning village of Potes.

It was loose and steep. Very, very steep. But that's mountain biking in Cantabria. The mountains here are high and still covered in snow at this time of year. Surrounded on one side by the Picos de Europa, the only kind of riding here is steep and technical. Both up and down!
