Kusoge Episode #3 - Drake of The 99 Dragons Xbox 2003

Welcome to Episode 3 of Video Game awfullness. Drake of The 99 Dragons is one of those fairly well known crappy games in the US market. As far as some of the worst stuff I've personally experienced or seen this one isn't too bad as some people make out. Don't get me wrong this game is TERRIBLE, but is it say Action 52 terrible or Blood Wings Revenge of Pumpkinhead terrible? Absolutely not. Once you've played some really bottom of the barrel stuff or even garbage below that stuff like this doesn't seem so bad in comparison.

Anyways gameplay wise the gravity is kind of strange and the level design really sucks which makes some of the game rather difficult. Take the City stage for example you right at the start you go down the street and a bus will just slam in to you at mach 5 pretty much instantly killing you. You can't really dodge it unless you know it is there and can anticipate it. The platforming is sort of borked to. It's like trying to move and jump on the moon or something and not only that Drake will bend and contort in weird ways at times which is pretty amusing. Of course how much this is an emulation issue or an actually issue as the game isn't exactly well programmed. Another thing to mention is that Xbox emulation isn't super great yet and you need a pretty good PC to run it at decent speed. My computer is a good 8 years or so old so yeah there is some slow down. There was I hallway that I entered in stage 2 where the game just crawled at like 5 FPS not sure why.
