Kazakhstan, Almaty - Walking along the river Bolshaya Almatinka

Last week I was on the road and among other places briefly visited Almaty, the biggest city in Kazakhstan. I didn’t have much time, but that short stay was enough to remind me how much I love the region. I just love being able to see glorious mountain ranges at almost any time, the aryks, carrying white seething water from the glaciers, even those yellow-beaked birds (I always forget what they called). I missed it so much! And of course I had to record something. But, again, I didn’t have enough time!

Luckily, my hotel was located near the river Bolshaya Almatinka and I managed to record a short walk along its shores. Not much to comment on here though. The walk started in some backyards (the exact address is Navoi St, 68/1), and I immediately encountered a huge pack of stray dogs, but other than that it’s just the river. Quite a lovely place.
