The Diplomats, also called Dipset, are a crew of American hip hop artists established in 1997 by buddies Cam'ron and Jimmy Jones from Harlem, New York. Initially, the crew comprised Cam'ron, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey, who all grew up together in Harlem. Later in 1999, Juelz Santana, another rapper from Harlem, joined the crew. In 2001, after Cam'ron signed a contract, the crew secured a record deal with Roc-A-Fella Records. They began working on their debut album, Diplomatic Immunity, which dropped in March 2003 on Roc-A-Fella Records. Due to issues between Cam'ron and Jay-Z, they left Roc-A-Fella Records and inked a deal with Koch Records, a smaller label. They released their second album, Diplomatic Immunity 2, in November 2004 with Koch Records.
