Near Farmingdale, New Jersey

The atmosphere near Farmingdale was tense as the aftermath of Commander Walker's loss and the Air Service's failed attack weighed heavily on the human
forces. The retreat to the city of Howell marked a strategic decision in the face of the advancing Martian threat. As the humans regrouped, the Martians continued their relentless pursuit of resources, posing a looming threat to the larger cities along the East Coast.
Taking command of the defense efforts, General Stone of the US Army implemented a defensive strategy for Howell. He ordered his infantry to dig in
just outside of town, establishing a perimeter to withstand the impending Martian onslaught.
Recognizing the need for additional air support, General Stone called in a squadron of Fokker D.VIIs, hoping their advanced capabilities would give the humans an edge in the upcoming battle.
Confident in the strength of his defenses, General Stone addressed the worried residents of Howell, reassuring them that the combined efforts of the military would repel the Martian invaders. His words were laced with determination and a promise of victory, instilling a sense of hope among the populace.
The fate of Howell hung in the balance as the stage was set for a decisive confrontation between humanity and the relentless Martian invaders.
