Описание к видео 487 WGW - The massacre of Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka

In his conversation with Mark Riedemann, Father Nishanta Cooray, a priest working in Columbo, Sri Lanka, recalls his emotions and reactions after a series of bomb attacks in several Catholic churches on the morning of Easter Sunday, April 21st, 2019. 500 people were wounded, 200 were killed. He was asked by his superior to visit many of the affected families to give comfort and be with them in their grief. Father Cooray recalls how he was impressed by the faith of those, who had just lost their wives, sons or daughters. In the weeks after the attack many Hindu priests and people as well as Buddhists offered help to the Christians in many ways. According to Father, these horrible attacks did not do any damage to the interreligious dialogue in the country.
