Visit us at: https://www.SoFloSportsRehab.com When getting over a lower back injury such as a back sprain, strain, disc herniation, or disc bulge, it is very important that you continue to not hurt your low back! Often times with low back pain, it hurts to bend forward, lift weights, and do squats and deadlifts.

One of the best exercises you can do to help improve your leg strength while avoiding risky exercises is the Lunge. In this case, we specifically recommend a reverse lunge as the traditional lunge often pulls our spine and body into flexion, which may cause an increase in pain.

Additionally, the split stance in the squat helps to improve the hip mobility necessary to reduce back pain.
