Chordplay - The Chords Of Jethro Tull

Описание к видео Chordplay - The Chords Of Jethro Tull

Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Jethro Tull. I've noticed a number of requests for Jethro Tull's music piling up, so I figured it was time to finally feature these legends of progressive rock from the late 1960s and beyond - so let's dive in!

The chord-based and rhythm guitar examples in this lesson were pulled from two classic Tull albums - Stand Up and Aqualung. And while Tull has released 22 studio albums in their career (and is still active to this day), it was hard for me to leave these two classic albums, as they're two of my favorites and deliver that classic Jethro Tull vibe/sound throughout.

The song-based examples shared here include classic tracks such as 'Locomotive Breath,' 'Living In The Past,' 'A New Day Yesterday,' 'We Used To Know,' 'Reasons For Waiting,' and 'My God' - to name a few. We're also hitting a combo of electric and acoustic guitar parts during this episode, and a few examples combine the two instruments seamlessly together - which is VERY interesting!

There's something to be said and to learn about the interplay between Ian Anderson and Martin Barre's weaving acoustic/electric guitar style during Tull's heyday and this episode taps into a few of those ideas and reveals a few of their fretboard secrets. Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
