Описание к видео Scott McGill "The Chord Book" for Guitar: Dominant 7th #11/b5 Voicings on Bb - 1256 String Family

This video covers the Dominant 7th with a #4/#11 type chord voicings found on the 1256 string family on Bb.

The basic associated harmonies for Bb7#11 are F minor/maj7, Ab Major7th#5, D minor 9 b5, and E7#9/b9 . These chords are derived from a F Melodic Minor scale and represent a "Lydian Dominant" type chord sound.

These wide interval "quartet" voicings yield rich sounds that enable interesting voice motion as well as more close interval sounds between the highest two and lowest two strings.

The transformation process of moving root and third to create these harmonies in relation to the Bb7/13/#11/9 sound is discussed and demonstrated along with movement of all voices to access related voicings for substitution, solo playing, and more interesting chord movement from a musical and technical development standpoint. Resolution points are to A, and Eb, but also to C, and Gb Major and Minor as well.

This video series on Guitar Chords covers the concept of Four String Groups for Chords with no doublings. A complete study which will cover Major 7th type, Min7th type, Dominant 7th type, Altered Dominant 7th type , and Diminished 7th type chords with an introduction to voicings on the Augmented Scale/Six Tone Symmetrical Scale as well.

This study will be an extended series of video demonstrations that will help one master all the essential chord types on the Guitar far past the basic inversions of seventh chords, develop the ear, uncover a range of new chord spacings and a wide range of voicings with many unique voice leading possibilities, and develop technical control of the Guitar for writing and performance. Jazz, Fusion, and Classical players will find this useful and the applications to Solo Guitar, Composition, and Group Performance are limitless.
