All three featured regions in the Unity Gala Challenge have more than one rival character, so I used three more rivals to add to the Extreme Battle Event rival clears I already did before (   • 3 EX Rivals take on the Unity Gala Extreme...  ). Lear himself is classified as a rival by PokeMas so he really made this event for his fellow rivals!

Here's how each battle went and the sync grids used:

There are already a lot of clears that highlight how good Elio and Kiawe are for this fight, so I won't go into that much. What I will say is that Kiawe's combination of crit buffs and Potions are what make him a top-tier pick for this, and I do think this clear is still possible if he wasn't EXed. Also I didn't bother evolving Popplio since Elio's only at 1/5 so I don't have the Sparkling Aria nodes unlocked.

Hau is pretty good for this fight too, since he's one of the few Alolan special strikers. He can also get some lucky dodges at +4 evasion and heal himself up with First Aid. One annoying thing about running both Hop and Elio together though is how Discharge can paralyze the opponents, making them immune to Sing.

This took a LOT of tries to do, but the breakthrough was prioritizing the sides over Rachel. In previous attempts I'd be able to KO Sandslash only to lose to the sides' AOE moves, so I tried going for the sides first. It was much more productive that way - since EX Bianca's sync nuke is single target anyway, I can get to Sandslash after the sync so that it doesn't activate Resilience.

I chose Ingo as the tank for his crit buffs and EX boost, and his passive Speed buffs were also nice in strengthening Bianca's Stored Power. Ghetsis is a great pick for this stage too as his kit does a lot to make it easier, plus he can do decent damage with Glaciate.

Vs. Sawyer: EX Brendan / Flannery / EX Skyla - https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github....

Flannery really is the MVP of this fight - she allows the other two team slots to be really flexible. I chose Brendan over May for his physical sync move coupled with Leaf Storm being good against Kommo-o. Skyla's buffs are perfect to round out the comp too. That crit on Torkoal at the end made me a bit nervous but fortunately Brendan's bulk was good enough.

And Grovyle isn't evolved because Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers is one of the best games ever.
