You’ll want a basic walking shoe for our cultural walks around town and around the lodges. As for climbing Kilimanjaro, World Wide Trekking recommends a pair of high-top hiking boots. Leather boots tend to have fewer seams and thus a smaller chance of blowing out on the hike. It needs to be warm and have good tread on the bottom. You’ll also want good synthetic hiking socks to stay warm and avoid abrasion from your boots. Watch this video to hear all the details about footwear on Kilimanjaro!
