Buses in Melton - Melbourne Transport

Описание к видео Buses in Melton - Melbourne Transport

In this video we see some buses in Melton, a suburb in Melbourne's western outskirts around 37km west of the CBD along the Ballarat Railway Line. With a population of around 76,000 Melton was once considered a satellite city of Melbourne, but is slowly but surely being encroached by Melbourne's expansive urban sprawl.

Melton is served by 8 bus routes operated by Transit Systems; the 453, 454, 455, 456, 457, 458, 459, and the Melton South FlexiRide on-demand service. Most buses in Melton still wear the livery of their former family-owned operator Sita Buslines although a small number wear the orange PTV bus livery. In Melton, Transit Systems tend to use Volvo B12BLE's, Volvo B7RLE's, or Volvo B8RLE's, all with Volgren 'CR228L' or Volgren 'Optimus' bodies. As a nice bonus for me there were plenty of Pigeon Buses :D

Melton has three separate bus interchanges and in this video we visit all three of them. These are the bus interchange at Melton Train Station, Melton Bus Interchange situated in the Melton CBD along Palmerston Street which was upgraded by Melton City Council in 2012, and the bus interchange outside Woodgrove Shopping Centre; the newest in Melton having opened on the 18th January 2021.
