Buses at Tarneit during Peak Hour - Melbourne Transport

Описание к видео Buses at Tarneit during Peak Hour - Melbourne Transport

In this video we see some afternoon peak hour bus action at Tarneit, a busy station on the Geelong Line in Melbourne's growing western suburbs. Tarneit station opened on the 21st June 2015 and has already grown to become the second busiest station on the V/Line regional rail network. Tarneit has also become a busy bus hub in the area with numerous bus routes serving the station.

Tarneit is served by nine bus routes operated by CDC Melbourne's Wyndham depot. The growth of Tarneit has led to the introduction of multiple new routes to serve the station in recent years, including new routes 152 and 182 which began service on the 30th May 2021, and the Tarneit North Flexiride on-demand service which began on the 23rd October 2022. On top of these new routes, Tarneit is also served by routes 150, 151, 160, 167, 170 and 180.

Buses we see include Volvo B12BLE's, Volvo B7LRE's, Volvo B5LH hybrid buses, Scania K230UB's, Scania K310UB's, as well as some Hino Poncho's on the flexiride service. We also see three particular buses of interest including;

#14 2003 Volvo B12BLE (Volgren 'CR221L')
#16 2003 Volvo B12BLE (Volgren 'CR221L')
#83 2001 Volvo B7L (Volgren 'CR221L')

Buses with the Volgren CR221L body are among the oldest CDC Melbourne buses still on route service.

The bus interchange at Tarneit is a busy place for buses and has been expanded in an ad-hoc manner several times over the years. Bus stops are scattered all over the place and provides rather basic amenity for bus commuters. However a brand new bus interchange is currently under construction on the south side of the station which is set to open by late 2023.
