A review of Amuro Ray's Custom MSZ-006A1 Zeta Gundam Plus A1. It's technically called the "test colors" or "demonstration colors" but we all know it's Amuro's lol.

-- Production Notes for future me to read --

- This video is technically a reupload of a previous review. However, I had to take it down and swap out the music, so I decided to make some updates. Below are the notes for the original version, followed by the notes for this updated version.

- This is the first time I re-bought a kit. My original build was my very first MG so this was a fun little challenge to see how much I've improved.

- In hindsight, I should've put the old build on the turn table too instead of using low quality iPhone pics.

- I messed up with the audio and accidentally said the average score was a 3.7 when it should have been a 3.6, so I took some audio from the RX-78-2 Ver 2.0 review and spliced it in. It made me notice how much my audio has improved. That was a big issue I had, and even though I'm still not happy with it, it's nice to see I'm improving.

- I really tried to bump up the colors in this one. I took extra care with white balancing, and even did some color correction while editing. I also bumped up the colors for the whole video. I know in a review, it's probably better to leave everything neutral, but then again, this is a YouTube video, so I kind of want it to pop, ya know? I'd say I only cranked up the colors by 15%, so I don't feel too bad.

- Part of me wants to go back and apply my new color correction method to my older reviews, specifically all the yellowish ones like Shining and Turn A, but I don't want to flood people with re-uploads. Maybe if I hit a huge sub milestone or something.

- I tried using masks for the bulk of the text to save on time. It worked pretty well, but I kept having issues when the initial text fades in from a different image. So I ended up not masking the initial text, but then fading in a mask for all the follow up text. I really need to figure that out.

- I've been streaming recently, so I think I may try that. I've made 3-4 full streams and saved them for reference. I'm just not very good without a script, so I don't think I'd do well, but I'm still testing things. It'd be a great way to rack up watch hours to get my monetization back...

- Edit 1/25/2019, got monetization back, that was stupid tho lol

Here are the notes for this updated version

- Re-EQ'd the audio

- The new EQ'd audio didn't match the timing the original track for some reason, so I had to do some minor re-edits to sync it up. Leads to a slightly faster pacing

- Recorded a new 'average score' section

- My new audio set up sounded too good, so I purposefully EQ'd it down to fit with the old audio. Still doesn't work too well lol

- Of course the new music

- Updated all the font

- New title card

- New color correction. Original was too poppy, and made the warm off-white look more like pure white. The new filter I use keeps more of the original color, making the kit look more like it would out of the box. Of course, I could just over saturate and make it look like a cartoon like other people do, seems to work for them, but eh~ wanna work on more 'accurate' color correction so when I transition to real video making my skills will transfer over easier.

Wow, thanks for reading all that, hope it helps you in whatever video production you do. Here's a reward:    • Tomoko Aran (亜蘭知子) -  Body to Body
