THE WHISKY
NAS Blended Malt from family owned company Douglas Laing &Co
Independent bottlers since 1948
This blended Malt consists of only Campbeltown single malts
Gauldrons means ‘Bay of Storms’ and refers to a very remote stormy region on the west coast of Scotland

THIS WHISKY
Matured in oak casks
ABV 46.2%
Non Chill filtered – Natural colour


COLOUR
Yellow gold
NOSE
Sweet vanilla, honey beer, sea salt, honey oatmeal cookies, fruit candy
DROP IN THE PALM – honey bread crust
TASTE
Sweet vanilla, caramelized brown sugar, salty maritime notes, pear cider, lemon meringue, hint of peat
FINISH
Short to medium, sweet vanilla, oak spice
EMPTY GLASS – fruity cake with icing sugar

WITH WATER:
Nose: fruit candy, cookie dough and some maritime notes
Taste: don’t add water
COMMENT: being a Campbeltown whisky fan my expectation of this blended malt was a bit too high
