GREATER MIAMI SYMPHONIC BAND is proud to present this performance of IN GLORY TRIUMPHANT by American composer Robert Longfield, with the composer on the podium.
Mr. Longfield is an award-winning music educator, conductor and prolific composer and arranger of orchestral and band music, with over 500 published compositions. He also serves as GMSB Music Director.
This exciting composition was originally commissioned as an orchestral piece by the Davison HS Orchestra, Davison, Michigan. The title “In Glory Triumphant” is taken from the Book of Exodus 15:1, “Sing praise to the Lord, in glory triumphant.” The work has three principal sections, two of which repeat to produce an arch ABCBA form. This transcription for band was made from the original orchestra score by the composer.
