Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (SNES) - Final Boss and Ending

Time to throw down with the Dark King. (looks like a goblin tho)

Hot take: this boss is more dangerous than most mainline FF bosses.
For such a simple game designed to be "baby's first RPG", the final boss is kind of interesting. He has 40k HP and 3 phases, changing each time you deplete around 10k of his life.

The first phase uses Spark and Iron Nail to reduce your characters' stats. It's not very threatening.

The second phase has a lot of different attacks which can cause some decent damage, along with Cure Arrow which damages you and heals him. Still not too bad.

The 3rd phase is when things get actually sorta hard. His attacks deal a lot of damage to either single target or both your characters, and the Silver and Gold Web attacks can inflict tons of debuffs on Phoebe, as she doesn't get all the debuff protection Benjamin gets. The final phase just changes his form but his attacks are the same as the 3rd one.

Strategy is relatively simple: attack with Flare or White, and cast Cure to preempt the damage. In the 3rd phase it's best for someone to keep healing every turn just in case. It kinda boils down to how much he'll harass Phoebe with status effects.

There's a glitch in the very first turn where you can overflow the boss' HP by casting Cure on him, which will allow you to skip one or two phases - which is fine because the early ones are super easy anyways.
