Roads in Tasmania (120) Jan 2024- Day Trip Scottsdale to Derby, Petal Point, Boobyalla Beach

We have a chance for a bit of day tripping today. We head off to the north east corner of Tassie to explore the possibility of some camping spots in the future.
We discover some pretty good places, including Derby. This is a mountain biking town with some innovative services that make the town a real attraction.
We then take some gravel roads to discover the wind turbine capital of the north east and some very cool camping spots for those with the rig to get there.
Petal Point is the most northerly place that we can get to on Tasmania. It’s a little windy, but absolutely worth the trip. If you are in the area, this is a great spot to camp completely off grid.
