You may wonder "what is the right age for a Ponytail Facelift?" As I always say: I don't treat age, I treat the problems you have at any age.

The Ponytail Lift was originally designed for younger patients. But when patients have lower face and neck laxity where skin needs to be removed, then it's the Ponytail Facelift.

This beautiful a 35-year-old felt self-conscious about her growing neck laxity. "I love my Dad but I don't want to have his turkey neck." She complained that her face is narrow, long and masculine. She inherited very stretchy, lax skin (I call it bubblegum skin.) She wanted to "get ahead" of her genetics.
She tried everything... Fillers only made her face bigger and even more masculine. Energy devices didn't tighten, and threads didn't last more than a few weeks.

She considered a "mini facelift" which is the worst thing one can do at this age because you get all the traditional facelift scars with very little work through the incisions. Skin tension on the wound closure is usually high, and the scars are usually bad.

If I am only capable of doing traditional facelift or a deep plane technique using an incision in front of the ear, behind the tragus, going up the temple hairline, I would feel it's too aggressive for this young patient at age 35. I would tell her to come back in 5 years when she grows more jowls and turkey neck so it's worth the scars around the ears.

We performed a Ponytail Facelift with KaOgee Jowl Lift / Massai Neck Lift and an Upper Lip Lift. This can produce DRAMATIC results that can "transform" a person to a more beautiful version of themself.

The beauty of the Ponytail Facelift technique is that we can lift and tighten the entire face and neck in the "deep plane" with small endoscopic access incisions. The skin of the neck is removed permanently without incisions in front of the ear. The lift is vertical, not horizontal. We are able to rejuvenate from the top of the head to the bottom of the neck without incisions on the face.

I thought it is also important to show that we can also modulate each component of the Ponytail Facelift to produce just a very subtle and "refreshed" look. Any two patients can have the exact pre-operative plan on paper, but performed very differently.

We were able to feminize, soften and "Refresh" her features without any visible scars. Her lip lift was performed with our new KaoLuna Lip Lift that minimize the incisions under the nose without compromising the amount of the lip shortening.
