Our journey is slowly coming to an end. After the fascinating Nomad games, we had the opportunity to see and participate in the construction of a yurt.
We continue along the mountain road towards Lake Song Kul. We cross the Kalmak-Ashuu pass, at an altitude of 3446 m. Song Kul is the largest freshwater mountain lake in Kyrgyzstan, and we will spend another night there in yurts at an altitude of 3016 m.
After a cold and rainy night, a beautiful morning dawned. Part of the group was ready to go on a riding tour. The nomad boys prepared and brought our horses. After lunch we descend to Naryn from where we continue along the valley between the picturesque hills towards Karavan Serai Tash Rabat. It is located at an altitude of 3200 m and was once an important outpost on the Silk Road. It dates back to the 15th century and has been beautifully restored.
We continue with a beautiful walk through the picturesque landscape from Tash Rabat towards the Chinese border, which is only about 10 kilometers away from here.
My trip to Kyrgyzstan was one of the most exciting and beautiful experiences I've ever had. This country is a hidden gem of Central Asia, with its wild nature, rich culture, and wonderful people. Every day was a new adventure. From horseback riding across endless steppes to hiking under high peaks and sleeping in traditional yurts, it was an unforgettable experience that fed my soul.
