ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Business Advisory Council 10/09/2024

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joins fellow Leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for an interface with Representatives of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) on October 9, 2024.

The President is set to reiterate the Philippines’ commitment to working with the private sector in advancing ASEAN’s goals and objectives, and call on the ASEAN-BAC to take a leading role in shaping the regional economy, as well as to support the ASEAN Business and Biodiversity (ABBI) — a joint effort of the ASEAN-BAC and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity.

Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion leads the delegation as Chair of ABAC Philippines. Joining him are Chairman George Barcelon of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and Michael Tan, President of the LT Group.

This forum allows ABAC representatives to share insights on trade, investment and challenges facing the business community. The dialogue emphasizes the importance of public-private partnerships (PPPs) for sustainable economic growth and aims to align economic policies with business needs, enhancing ASEAN's competitiveness and resilience.
