Training young people experiencing unemployment in Vanuatu

Описание к видео Training young people experiencing unemployment in Vanuatu

Unemployment continues to be one of the most pressing challenges for Vanuatu’s youth and young people. An inability for many families to pay for education beyond primary school leads to young people not having the industry skills needed for employability.

Through the Together We Are Stronger program, Oxfam partner Wan Smol Bag supports young people experiencing unemployment by providing skills training in a range of areas. Wan Smol Bag started as a community theatre which has now expanded to include community and youth centres, a nutrition house and a health clinic, focussing on providing a space for youth and young people to come and train in life skills. WSB’s Northern Care Youth Centre (NCYC) in Luganville, Santo runs classes that include computer, sewing, hip-hop dance, music and even circus.
