A Jewish piyyut over 1000 years old, written by Rabbi Haim Ben Sahl in 10th century.
This Jewish chant can be understood as a love song for the bride, and so it does appear in the Karaite Judaism.
Many of the expressions in this chant are taken from the ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ด, so the poem can also
be understood as an allegory for the love of people of Israel to God.
This chant is popular among the Jews of Morocco who perform it to express the great longings and the eternal love bond between the Holy spirit and the people of Israel.

The composition is taken from traditional Gnawa music, the Samawi song.
Gnawa music style arrives from Morocco and West Africa and relates to Islamic religious rhythms and songs pattern.
Its well-preserved heritage combines ritual poetry with traditional music and dancing.
The music is performed at lila, communal nights of celebration dedicated to prayer and healing guided by the Gnawa maalem, or master musician, and their group of musicians and dancers. Though many of the influences that formed this music can be traced to West African kingdoms,
its traditional practice is concentrated in Morocco.
Gnawa music has spread to many other countries in Africa and Europe, such as France.
