A Gaza-bound aid flotilla has departed from Barcelona with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on board. The mission, organised by the Global Sumud Flotilla, aims to deliver food, medicine, and other essential supplies to Gaza while challenging Israel's naval blockade.
Thunberg and the other activists hope to open a humanitarian corridor and draw international attention to the decades-long conflict and humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians. The flotilla departed from Barcelona, with additional vessels expected to join from other Mediterranean ports in the coming days.
